MATARAM, - The Governor of West Nusa Tenggara, Dr H Zulkieflimansyah, SE, MSc is enthusiastically looking forward to a jazz music event titled Senggigi Sunset Jazz which will be held from 5 to 6 November.
"It will add to the excitement of our events", said the Governor when receiving the Senggigi Sunset Jazz committee at the pavilion, Friday (30/09).
In fact, the Governor directly invited Peter F Gontha, a businessman and nominee for the best jazz vocalist for the 2000 AMI Award who is also his best friend via telephone.
He invited Peter, who is also a former Polish ambassador, to meet the Polish NTB scholarship awardee.
After a two-year vacuum due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Senggigi Sunset Jazz was again held by presenting a number of top jazz musicians in the country.
The jazz concert will be held at Kerandangan Beach, Senggigi Tourism Area, West Lombok Regency.
The Chairperson of the Organizing Committee for Senggigi Sunset Jazz, Nety Rusi, said that the relaxation of policies from the government meant that Senggigi Sunset Jazz 2022 would be ready to re-enliven the musical treasures on the island of Lombok. The Senggigi Sunset Jazz concert will certainly treat the longing of music lovers.
"Senggigi Sunset Jazz 2022 is not just a music concert. This is a festive festival with various activities," said Nety Rusi.
A number of musicians participated such as Katon Bagaskara, Fariz RM, Ardhito Pramono, Pamungkas, Reza Artamevia, Tulus to Sierra Sutedjo.
"There is also jazz saxophonist Richard Hutapea who will collaborate with Lombok Island musicians and perform jazz with a touch of West Nusa Tenggara traditional music," said Nety.
In addition to concerts, the Senggigi Sunset Jazz 2022 activity will also be enlivened with a culinary festival and a cleaning action for Senggigi Beach.
The beach clean-up activity with the Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry is part of the effort to make Senggigi Sunset Jazz 2022 a concert with as little waste as possible. This effort is a form of support and commitment to environmental conservation.
